He started playing the piano at the age of 5, and at the age of 8, he was exposed to many instruments including the trumpet in his elementary school brass band. He began composing and arranging music in earnest when he was a university student playing in chamber music and orchestras. As a pianist, he has been active in chamber music piano performances and solo competitions, as an accompanist for choirs, and as a double player in a local piano school.
